When you visit the internet, install a game/ software or just play a DVD on your computer, there is a risk of infecting your computer. Computer viruses are found all over the web and local files. They normally prevail where the use of the antimalware program is not considered important by users.

Computer viruses have been known to be the worst inventions in computer history. This is because they have been there ever since that time. They started out small as batch files that could delete the windows partition and have grown to be complex in their mode of operation and everything.

However, the typical computer virus is not the only thing that can destroy your computer. More and more software programs have been made to disrupt your PC’s performance. Here are some of the threats that most probably would affect your PCs performance/ functions if you don’t prevent them:

Ransomware

Ransomware have become trendy in the black hat world. They are malicious programs that encrypt your hard disk with advanced encryption.

The encryption is really tough to crack and a person needs more than luck to decrypt it without spending money. A ransom is required to be paid in order for the decryption process to be given out.

You can opt for the decryptors that are beings made available online, but there is a high chance some of them are just as deceiving as the ransomware you are trying to remove.

Don’t fret, you can always format the drive whenever something like this happens. You may find it difficult at first, but when you get used to it, reinstalling Windows will be the answer to every issue your computer has.

Many people have difficulty in determining which decryptor to go with. This is because there are so many decryptors that some of the fake ones are hard to escape from.

Why not just go ahead and install an antimalware program that you can use to protect your PC against the ransomware attacks?

Malware

A malware has the ability to alter system setting, install thirds party apps and make some default apps disappear. They are mostly used to infect computers, but one can opt for different schemes for financial gain.

Malware programs are hard to detect for the first time. They usually come as inert programs that raise no initial flags. It usually takes a few days before a new malware has been uploaded to antivirus databases.

That is why you need a dedicated malware remover to scan your PC where the antivirus programs are too lazy to explore. Dedicated antimalware programs are specialized in the removal of malware.

The developers, therefore, bestow their time to researching malware behavior only. The antimalware programs get the malware definitions faster than larger security programs.

Untested Overclocking Software

Not all the threats your computer faces come stealthily. You may be the one who initializes your computers doom.

Next generation games offer the best graphics and gameplay anyone could ever dream of. When you try to play a demanding game like Hellblade on a potato PC, all you’ll end up with is frustrations throughout the game.

To increase the FPS (frames per second) of the game, most people opt for overclocking software programs. The overclocking software puts the GPU in overdrive and hence makes the game a bit smoother.

The problem with this is that your PC will also heat like crazy. As if it didn’t have enough at first.

You should NOT overclock a machine if you do not know what you are doing. The GPU can stand great temperatures; hence you may never know that your machine is dying until it catches flames, literally.

Many PCs have gone up in flames while users enjoy the clarity of 60 frames per second. Do not let this tempting framerate destroy your PC. Always operate within the recommended overclocking limits.

Also, remember to use monitoring software like RivaTuner and GPU shark to monitor the PC’s state.

Dust

Moving on to hardware threats, dust is one of the greatest foes your PC can ever face, especially laptops.

If you own a gaming laptop, then you know just how much your computer needs regular cooling. The GPU and CPU are connected to the same cooling system, hence the temperatures of both are always separated by a slim margin.

Since the fan blows through the cooling element, it needs to stay dust free for the heat to be blown away. If dust manages to clog up the heat sink, the machine will not be cooled efficiently. The GPU, and probably CPU too will get damaged by the high temperatures.

On the bright side, Radeon Graphics has an automatic off switch once the machine reaches extreme temperatures. This can be annoying sometimes, especially when you didn’t save whatever you were doing. To avoid this, just blow your machine from time to time.
